Colette's tenacious musicality was highly influenced by her father (a well-respected jazz musician) & his love for jazz as well as her older brother and his devotion to Motown and R & B. At age 15, Colette began singing in her older brother's band, recording, traveling and performing in venues throughout California. Eventually Colette made her way to the stage where she performed in numerous musical theater productions. More recently she has returned to her first love - funky jam. Working with the incredibly gifted Reed Walsh (guitar, producer & arranger) and navigating harmonies with her dearest friend and her sister have made playing with Sould Out a dream come true.
Michelle “Shelly or Beans” Tachera comes from a musical family. Whether it was her dad rehearsing his act and playing sax in the living room, her older brother’s high school band practicing Motown hits in the garage or the sounds of Broadway musicals such as West Side Story and Jesus Christ Superstar playing throughout the house, she grew up immersed in music. Michelle's love of music continued as she studied piano & loved to sing throughout her teens, landing the role of Lead Singer in her first band at age 17. Over the years she has continued work in entertainment , performing for events in wineries, restaurants and clubs with several players from that original band. Although Michelle enjoys singing several genres of music give her a soulful Jazz number and she is happiest and at home.
A California native, Leslie started her young vocal journey performing in churches and in competitive vocal dancing troops. Later Leslie appeared alongside her dad, a “piano man”, playing in various piano lounges in OC and the LA area. Leslie is all about harmony! The blend she and her bestie, Colette, created over 10 years ago continues in the music of Soul'd Out. Now that Little sis Shelly has joined, Leslie feels their vocally driven sound is complete.
